Parimatch offers a wide-ranging variety of bets, some of which may not be common knowledge for newly registered users. The purpose of this article is to highlight and briefly explain the different types of bets offered.
What is a Single Bet?
A single bet is the bet on a singular (one) outcome occurring. Winning at the single bet is odds multiplied on the stake. An example can be seen below:
Client has placed a bet of 100Tsh on the following:
Bet# | Event | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Manchester United v Liverpool (to win Manchester United) | 2.5 | Won |
The client has won the bet therefore his payout amount will be 100Tsh X 2.5 = 250Tsh
What is a Parlay Bet?
A parlay bet (also known as multi-bet) a type of bet in which all selected outcomes (odds) are multiplied on each other and multiplied on the stake. And this is the payout for multi-bet. If at least one of the bet in the multi-bet loses, the entire multi-bet loses. You can refer to the examples below which illustrate how parlay bets work:
Client has placed a parlay bet of 100Tsh on the following:
Bet# | Event | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Manchester United v Liverpool (to win Manchester United) | 2.5 | Won |
2 | Bayern Munich v Dortmund (total goals scored over 3.5) | 3.7 | Won |
3 | Real Madrid v Barcelona (total yellow cards over 2.5) | 2.8 | Won |
4 | Arsenal v Tottenham (to qualify to next round Arsenal) | 2.2 | Won |
5 | Manchester City v Chelsea (3-way betting, bet on draw) | 4.2 | Won |
Referring to the example above, the client has won all bets therefore his payout amount will be calculated as follows 100Tsh X 2.5 X 3.7 X 2.8 X 2.2 X 4.2 = 23931.6Tsh
Note that the example above was straightforward, however the calculation of the payout changes if a bet is settled as a loss or refund. Taking the example above and modifying it slightly:
Bet# | Event | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Manchester United v Liverpool (to win Manchester United) | 2.5 | Won |
2 | Bayern Munich v Dortmund (total goals scored over 3.5) | 3.7 | Lost |
3 | Real Madrid v Barcelona (total yellow cards over 2.5) | 2.8 | Won |
4 | Arsenal v Tottenham (to qualify to next round Arsenal) | 2.2 | Won |
5 | Manchester City v Chelsea (3-way betting, bet on draw) | 4.2 | Won |
In the updated example, note that bet#2 within the parlay bet has been settled as a loss. The payout amount will be calculated as follows 100Tsh X 2.5 X 0 X 2.8 X 2.2 X 4.2 = 0Tsh
As you can see, losing one bet within a parlay will lead to a payout of 0, since the odds are multiplied and the odds of a lost bet are treated as 0.
The final case is that of a refunded bet within a parlay. Taking the same example as above:
Bet# | Event | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Manchester United v Liverpool (to win Manchester United) | 2.5 | Won |
2 | Bayern Munich v Dortmund (total goals scored over 3.5) | 3.7 | Refund |
3 | Real Madrid v Barcelona (total yellow cards over 2.5) | 2.8 | Won |
4 | Arsenal v Tottenham (to qualify to next round Arsenal) | 2.2 | Won |
5 | Manchester City v Chelsea (3-way betting, bet on draw) | 4.2 | Won |
Note here that bet# 2 within the parlay bet is treated as a refund. The payout amount will be calculated as follows 100Tsh X 2.5 X 1 X 2.8 X 2.2 X 4.2 = 6468Tsh
Here we can observe that bet#2 in the parlay bet was settled with odds of 1 (refund) since client neither won nor lost that bet.
What is a Handicap Bet?
A handicap bet is when a condition (advantage or disadvantage) is placed on a specific team or player in order to make the bet a bit more challenging. In order to determine how the bet will be calculated, simply add up the defined handicap to the goals/points of the selected team/player after a match. There are three possible outcomes for an handicap, all of which are listed below:
If the outcome is in favor of your team β your bet will be settled as a win.
If the outcome of the match is a draw (after the handicap has been added) β this is a push, and in the multi-bet, it will be settled with the odds of 1.
If the outcome of the match (after the handicap has been added) is in favor of the opposing team β your bet will be settled as a loss.
Taking as an example that the client has bet 100Tsh on the following:
Bet# | Event | Market | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Man U v Liverpool | Man U(+3) | 2.5 | Won |
The client has bet that Manchester United will win if given a handicap of +3 goals, assuming that the final score was 2-2 (Man U - Liverpool), then adding the 3 goals to Manchester United will lead to 5-2, which means that Manchester United has won. Therefore the client has won the bet. Their total payout will be calculated as follows 100Tsh X 2.5 = 250Tsh
Bet# | Event | Market | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Man U v Liverpool | Man U(+2) | 2.5 | Refund |
Assuming that the final score was 2-4 (Man U - Liverpool), then adding the 2 goals to Manchester United will lead to 4-4, which means that Manchester United has tied with Liverpool. Therefore the client has neither won nor lost the bet (refund). Their total payout will be calculated as follows 100Tsh X 1 = 100Tsh
Bet# | Event | Market | Odds | Outcome |
1 | Man U v Liverpool | Man U(+1) | 2.5 | Loss |
Assuming that the final score was 2-4 (Man U - Liverpool), then adding the 1 goal to Manchester United will lead to 3-4, which means that Manchester United has still lost to Liverpool. Therefore the client has lost the bet. Their total payout will be calculated as follows 100Tsh X 0 = 0Tsh
What is a Double Asian Handicap Bet?
A double Asian handicap bet is a bet on the game with a handicap in which the Handicap value (H) is a multiple of 0.25, but not a multiple of 0.5, for example: H = -0.25, +0.25, -0.75, +0.75, etc. Such a bet is interpreted as two (simple, "half") bets with the same odds and with the nearest common Handicap value (H1 = H - 0.25 and H2 = H + 0.25). The amount of each "half" bet is equal to the half of the "Double" bet amount.
This may be easier to explain via an example:
Team | Handicap | Odds |
Real Madrid | -0.25 (0,-0.5) | 2.0 |
Barcelona | +0.25 (0,+0.5) | 1.8 |
If the "double Asian handicap" bet of 200Tsh was placed on: Real Madrid
Real win: both "halves" of the initial "double Asian handicap" bet win (0 and -0.5). Payout: (100 X 2.0 + 100 X 2.0) = 400Tsh, and the bet odds in the "Multiple bet" are equal to 400/200 = 2.0.
Real draw: you lose one "half" of the initial "double Asian handicap" bet and other "half" bet has the result of a "return". Payout: (100 X 0.0 + 100 X 1.0) = 100Tsh, and the bet odds in the "Multiple bet" are equal to 100/200 = 0.5.
Real lose: both "halves" of the initial "double Asian handicap" bet lose. Payout: (100 X 0.0 + 100 X 0.0) = 0Tsh, and the bet odds in the "Multiple bet" are equal to 0/200 = 0.0.
If the "double Asian handicap" bet of 200Tsh was placed on: Barcelona
Barcelona win: both "halves" of the initial "double Asian handicap" bet win (0 and +0.5). Payout: (100 X 1.8 + 100 X 1.8) = 360Tsh, and the bet odds in the "Multiple bet" are equal to 360/200 = 1.8.
Barcelona draw: you lose one "half" of the initial "double Asian handicap" bet and other "half" bet has the result of a "return". Payout: (100 X 1.8 + 100 X 1.0) = 280Tsh, and the bet odds in the "Multiple bet" are equal to 280/200 = 1.4.
Barcelona lose: both "halves" of the initial "double Asian handicap" bet lose. Payout: (100 * 0.0 + 100 * 0.0) = 0Tsh, and the bet odds in the "Multiple bet" are equal to 0/200 = 0.0.
What is a Double Chance Bet?
A double chance bet is a type of bet whereby it is possible to cover a few outcomes within a single bet.
β
For example:
β
1X β bet wins if Team 1 (home team) wins or draws. The bet is lost, if Team 2 (the away team) wins.
β
X2 β bet wins if Team 2 (away team) wins or draws. A bet is lost if Team 1 (the home team) wins.
β
12 β bet wins if Team 1 or Team 2 wins. The bet is lost in case of a draw.
